The Hartmann Law Firm offers privately-held and publicly-traded businesses the legal insight of an in-house General Counsel and the business experience of a senior executive.
Tom Hartmann has experienced the business law environment from both sides: serving as General Counsel for four companies in fast paced environments; and as a commercially focused business lawyer who has operated in litigation and mergers and acquisitions areas. Mr. Hartmann is also a retired Air Force Brigadier General.
This unique combination allows Mr. Hartmann to help businesses in all phases of their operation, from setting up policies to avoid litigation, helping to categorize employees as salaried and non-salaried, reviewing and negotiating contracts to insure ambiguity is eliminated, working to resolve disputes short of formal litigation or representing clients tenaciously in full litigation.
Experience as General Counsel serving Businesses and Senior Executives
Because of his experience as a business leader, Mr. Hartmann understands that the ultimate goal is to advance the business at all phases of operation. Thus, he makes sure that dispute resolution and litigation will achieve those objectives.
For those companies that do not want to hire a full time General Counsel, Mr. Hartmann can serve as the outside General Counsel to provide services when needed, but with a sense of full time commitment to his business clients. As a former General Counsel and senior business executive, Mr. Hartmann offers clients a deep and broad understanding of the complex issues confronting today's business leaders. He helps businesses anticipate risks before they turn into actual problems. This proactive approach is a unique instinct based on 30 years of legal, business, and senior government leadership.
